Lauren Hastings Genova, violin, enjoys exploring a broad range of musical genres, including the early music of St Mary Schola. She is a member of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and is the principal second violinist in the Colby Symphony Orchestra. Lauren also regularly performs with the new music concert series Vigorous Tenderness and recently performed with regenerative arts company Hogfish. She is a founding member of the eclectic string quartet Amarantos which currently collaborates with singer/songwriter Sara Hallie Richardson. Similarly, Lauren has enjoyed collaborating and performing with many notable pop artists including The Rustic Overtones, Guster, Billy Libby, Zach Jones, and has also performed on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show with Halsey and with St. Vincent. Lauren holds a Bachelor’s in Music Performance and a Master’s of Ethnomusicology from Boston University. She is also an alumna of The Walnut Hill School for the Arts. Lauren lives in Portland with her husband, daughter, two cats and a Schipperke.
