Jane Flukey, a mezzo soprano from Georgetown, ME, received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Southern Maine and her Master of Music from the University of North Texas. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Musical Arts from Shenandoah Conservatory in Voice Pedagogy. Jane is an active performer and teacher of classical and commercial styles. Jane has sung choral works such as the Vivaldi Gloria, Handel Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Rutter’s Requiem, Dubios’ Les Sept Paroles du Christ, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, and the Allegri Miserere Mei. She has soloed recently with the Augusta Symphony Orchestra, Opera on Tap Maine, and in venues around ME as the lead singer of a jazz trio. In addition to teaching within her private studio, Jane is an Adjunct Professor of Music at the University of New England, and on faculty for the Portland Conservatory of Music Summer Scenes Program for Singers. She is a member of the Maine chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and Opera on Tap Maine.
