Lauren Hastings Genova holds a Bachelor’s of Music in violin performance and a Master’s of Ethomusicology from Boston University. She also attended The Royal College of Music in London, England during the autumn of 2006. Prior to university, she attended Walnut Hill School in Natick, MA and the New England Conservatory’s Preparatory School Program.
Lauren moved back to her home state of Maine in 2010. She is a member of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and Portland-based Amarantos Quartet. She also enjoys performing regularly with many other ensembles throughout the state of Maine. As a member of St Mary Schola, Lauren is thrilled to take part in the tradition of early music performance with such a talented and friendly group of musicians. She is also grateful to be playing with this ensemble on a violin and bow made by Portland resident Asa Bradford.
