Rachel Sarracco studied music at The University of Texas at Austin under the direction of Craig Hella Johnson where she earned both an undergraduate and graduate degree. Soon after, she auditioned for and won her job with the U.S. Navy Sea Chanters Chorus in Washington, D.C. where she spent 21 years as both a section alto and soloist. Highlights from her career include singing at the inauguration of President Barak Obama, singing for the funerals of Presidents Ford, Reagan, and George H.W. Bush as well as soloing with the Cincinnati Pops and the Kansas City Pops. Last year, she and her husband retired to Maine where Rachel has been active in local theater and Portland-based choral ensembles.
