Stephen White is very pleased to be singing with St. Mary Schola. He began studying voice in high school followed by the University of Redlands (California) and the Manhattan School of Music. As an adult he has sung with the Boston Cecilia, the Cambridge Society for Early Music, and the Dallas Symphony Chorus. Since his move to Maine, he has sung and soloed with the mid-coast St. Cecilia Chamber Choir, Down East Singers, Lincoln Festival Chorus, and the Bowdoin Chorus.
Steve is an Episcopal priest who retired after forty years of parish ministry, most recently as rector of St. Andrew’s Church, Newcastle, Maine and the Church of the Redeemer, Chestnut Hill, MA. He is presently part-time Hospice Chaplain at the Gosnell House and Hospice of Southern Maine. In addition to St Mary Schola, he sings with the Cathedral Choir at St. Luke’s Episcopal Cathedral in Portland.
Steve lives in Yarmouth, with his wife Nan, who is also a musician (voice and flute). They have three adult children and five grandchildren scattered around New England and Britain.
