Thomas Spafford, tenor, is a lifelong choral musician who has sung with a variety of choirs ranging in size from 8 to 150+ singers, and styles from early music through classical, contemporary, and Broadway. His first love, though, is small ensemble singing of early music. Thomas is a recent transplant to Maine, having moved from Michigan in 2021. In Michigan he spent many years singing with the 10-voice all professional choir of Mariners’ Church of Detroit, as well as the Vocal Arts Ensemble and Vox Early Music Ensemble of Ann Arbor. Since moving to Maine he has been singing locally with ChoralArt Masterworks, Singers, and Camerata; and the Maine Gay Men’s Chorus. This concert is Thomas’s first with St. Mary Schola. When not singing, Thomas works in the pharmaceutical industry as an IT professional, and also enjoys travel, hiking, biking, and exploring the many natural wonders his new home state has to offer.
